Goal

Enroll in an eligible online program through EDU4Less’s in-network pathway so your tuition reduction (where available) or scholarship credit is applied to your student account.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a new student to the in-network college/university for this EDU4Less pathway (not a current student at that institution). EDU4Less FAQ
  • U.S. citizenship is required for the scholarship program described by EDU4Less. EDU4Less FAQ
  • Choose an eligible program listed on EDU4Less; only listed online programs qualify for the discount/scholarship. EDU4Less FAQ
  • Apply through EDU4Less’s admissions platform (EDU4Less notes savings are available by applying through Emma(™), not by applying directly on a school website). EDU4Less scholarships/program search page
  • Be prepared to maintain continuous enrollment if you are in the scholarship track; EDU4Less’s scholarship agreement describes disqualification for breaks in enrollment (including summer sessions). EDU4Less scholarship agreement (PDF)

Steps

  1. Confirm your program is eligible on EDU4Less

Action: Use EDU4Less’s program listings to identify an eligible online degree (or course) tied to tuition savings.

Expected outcome: You have a specific eligible program to request information for and apply to through the EDU4Less pathway.

Gotchas: EDU4Less indicates only programs listed on its site are eligible; applying outside that pathway can mean the savings do not apply. EDU4Less FAQ

    Time estimate: 10–30 minutes.

  2. Request information to get connected to the enrollment team

Action: Request information for your chosen program on EDU4Less so you can be connected with an enrollment team member.

Expected outcome: You have a point of contact for questions via chat, Zoom, phone, or text (as described by EDU4Less).

Gotchas: If you skip the request-info flow and apply directly with a school, EDU4Less notes the savings are only available via its Emma(™) enrollment platform. EDU4Less scholarships/program search page

Time estimate: 5–15 minutes (plus scheduling time if you choose a call).

  3. Apply through Emma(™) and complete the EDU4Less scholarship/discount portion during admissions

Action: Complete the application for admission using the EDU4Less platform; EDU4Less states the scholarship submission form is contained within the admissions platform and completed before submitting the school application.

Expected outcome: Your application is submitted through the correct channel for the tuition reduction or scholarship to be associated with your enrollment.

Gotchas: EDU4Less distinguishes between (a) a negotiated tuition reduction for some programs and (b) a 10% scholarship for others; which one applies depends on the program. EDU4Less FAQ

Time estimate: 30–90 minutes (varies by school requirements and document readiness).

  4. Enroll and start classes; avoid actions that can end eligibility

Action: After acceptance, complete enrollment and register for courses as required by the institution and your program plan.

Expected outcome: You are actively enrolled for the term, which is required for EDU4Less to verify enrollment and apply the scholarship payment (where applicable).

Gotchas: EDU4Less’s scholarship agreement describes losing eligibility if you take a break in enrollment (including summer sessions), drop classes, or fail to complete them; plan your course load accordingly. EDU4Less scholarship agreement (PDF)

Time estimate: 1–3 weeks end-to-end is common for admissions-to-enrollment in many online programs, but timing varies by school and start date.

  5. Understand when savings show up: immediate tuition reduction vs. post–add/drop scholarship credit

Action: Identify which savings mechanism your program uses and set expectations for when you’ll see it on your student account.

Expected outcome: You know whether your tuition is reduced upfront (negotiated rate) or whether a scholarship credit is applied after the term begins.

Gotchas: EDU4Less states negotiated lowered tuition rates (where available) are effective immediately and apply for the duration of the program; for the 10% scholarship, EDU4Less states it pays the school within 45 days after the add/drop deadline each semester after verifying enrollment, and the credit is applied to your student account. EDU4Less FAQ

Time estimate: 10–20 minutes to confirm your track; up to ~45 days after add/drop for scholarship posting (per EDU4Less).

  6. Stay eligible term-to-term (and handle program changes carefully)

Action: Continue meeting the program requirements each term; if you need to change programs, confirm the new program is eligible before switching.

Expected outcome: Your savings continue each term without interruption.

Gotchas: EDU4Less states that changing to another eligible program can be seamless, but switching to a non-eligible program ends the scholarship; the scholarship agreement also notes program/school changes may affect eligibility or the scholarship amount. EDU4Less FAQ EDU4Less scholarship agreement (PDF)

Time estimate: Ongoing each term; allow 1–2 weeks lead time before a term starts if you’re considering changes.

Expected Outcomes

  • Tuition savings are applied via one of two mechanisms: a negotiated tuition reduction for some programs (effective immediately) or a 10% scholarship payment credited to your student account after add/drop verification. EDU4Less FAQ
  • Scholarship credits (when applicable) post after the term starts: EDU4Less states payment is made within 45 days after the add/drop deadline each semester, after enrollment verification. EDU4Less FAQ
  • Ongoing savings without reapplying each semester (if you remain eligible): EDU4Less indicates you do not need to apply each semester once in the scholarship program, as long as requirements are met. EDU4Less FAQ
